HELLO

EKE

FRIENDS!

Equine Kinship Experience (EKE)

is a method that incorporates horses to help promote emotional growth in people to embrace life's challenges with strength and courage.

Horses are the most popularly used animal to help heal people. This is because horses have the ability to respond immediately and give feedback to a person’s actions and behaviours. They are also able to mirror people's emotions.

It is easy for participants to establish a connection with the horse. Horses behave like human beings in their social and responsive behaviour .

ABOUT

EKE

Equine Kinship Experience (EKE)

Participants of our EKE programs engage in hands-on learning that utilises the horse as a partner in exploring the positive development of communication, self-respect, confidence, trust, accountability, and conflict resolution. Sessions incorporate a variety of groundwork and activities such as grooming, leading, and herd observation. Then we move on to more in-depth activities with our horses and incorporate art, music, and inner-self healing. Our inner self is who you really are on the inside. To know your inner self is to know your purpose, values, vision, goals, motivations, and beliefs. Knowing your inner self requires a high level of introspection and self-awareness. We will utilise what pathway is desired by the client to go further with the experience. Our EKE programs can be tailored to specific individuals, groups, or organisations.

We also offer horse-kinship lessons that teach horse husbandry and riding (beginner-intermediate) for rider's with their own horses (T&C apply). These lessons focus on 'building your confidence' on the ground & in the saddle through developing congruency and balance in your relationship with your horse.

 ~ EKE Mission Statement

EKE "Equine Kinship Experience" facilitators/therapist(s) are dedicated to assisting

individuals, children and families in WA communities to achieve balance through

the mutually beneficial bond between animals, relationships, and nature.

Many people aren't always given opportunities for enjoyment and expression in their daily lives which is integral for

having good mental health. The EKE programs serve as expressive and experiential outlets that enable people not just to

enjoy themselves, but to feel fulfilled and stay healthy. Studies repeatedly find that animal assisted therapies are beneficial

to brain development, as well as positive physical and mental health.

Our clients have an enriching experience by working with the horses in their sessions.

The feedback we receive is that EKE is fun, creative and positively challenging in overcoming personal issues

wether it be in riding or on ground therapy. At EKE we work hard because we are passionate and believe in what we’re doing!

We are on a mission to spread positivity and hope to those who need it most.

Our services include an array of activities, here is just a list of a few on offer at the moment...

 ~ EKE Program Information

🐎  Riding ~ Therapy ~ Learning 🐎

All program details can be looked at in more detail by either selecting from the menu boxes above or click the BOOK NOW button here.

🐎  Riding the EKE horses 🐎

Being therapeutic based please don’t expect to ride when you come because sometimes the horses communicate to us that it’s not the right time and other times it’s perfect timing. So therefore riding will be incorporated when the facilitator/coach feels the time is right and if you do ride, it will only be at a walk/trot but mainly will be walking only (weight limits apply), unless you bring your own horse. When you bring your own horse you can go at all paces except gallop; long as it is done safely and you have your own personal accident insurance which you need to provide a copy of before your program starts and sign our waiver & indemnity form.

🐎 EKE Horse-Kinship Lessons & Riding Style 🐎

Please remember the above conditions to our sessions when reading this and coming for riding. It will be mainly on the ground and riding will be done when the timing is right. This will help you with your own horse knowing this method. To have a good experience around horses with riding you need to learn to read animals and understand their thoughts through their 'body language' communication. Your coach at EKE will guide you through animal behaviour, communication awareness, safety and further guidance in caring for horses in a calm, responsible way.

Our style of riding is stock-western. Your teacher has spent her whole life around horses, has lived experience on overcoming nervousness and now can confidently teach beginner to intermediate riders. Her style is calm and encouraging with great expertise in building confidence from the ground to the saddle or bareback. Safety is of high importance in the horse-kinship lessons so there is a strong focus on 1 on 1 learning even when sharing the time with others. In order to go on trail rides, all riders need to attend the 8 lesson program and renew it as required until they are truly confident and skilled in their horse riding skills to participate in all aspects of a trail ride. The program covers loads of learning about how to care for horses, manage a herd, tack up and maintain equipment, ground work exercises including lunging horses effectively and taking your time to learn to ride a horse safely and with ease. Many of our clients become quite attached to our horses as they all have unique personalities, they are patient and suit all types of rider's. The only riding we don't teach is Dressage or competition. All other calm, recreational riding we have adequate skills to pass on our knowledge in a practical learning way. For our lesson price guide please refer to the "All EKE Program Rates" list below.

PONY PARTIES - info on request.

TRAIL RIDES - Available to all experienced rider's that bring their own horse, have their own personal accident & liability insurance. You bring your horse and ride at your own risk. A waiver-Indemnity Form must be sign before each session upon arrival. Also you must have completed our programs and undertaken an assessment to ensure they are truly confident and aware of all safety measures when riding out on the open roads and in bushland's. For our trail ride price guide please refer to the "All EKE Program Rates" list below.
